Abay Ethiopian Cuisine
Description:Abay is a great contemporary Ethiopian restaurant that claims to be the first of Pittsburgh. This place is great for work lunches and date nights. The food is tasty, and can run from mild to incredibly spicy depending on your preference. The ambiance is superb, the waitstaff is very courteous and knowledgeable when it comes to the typical veg-related questions and requests for omission. They seem to be very conscious about things like cross-contamination, and overall the restaurant appears to be impeccably clean. One of our regular waiters actually tipped us off to a local vegan Sunday brunch. Level of Veg-Friendliness:Very Veg Friendly! There is an entire vegan section for entrees, with vegan options throughout the appetizers and dessert. All vegan items are clearly marked with the bold "V" logo. Notable Veg Dishes:Inguday Wat (Spicy!): Fresh mushrooms and brown lentils simmered in a spicy berbere sauce. General Information:
